The Ascending Path Climbing Guide Service was featured in The New York Times and other AP papers country wide. Read it here!

In 2006, we bought a new 20” diameter Pacific yurt to be our Girdwood office space. This will again be erected at the base of the Alyeska Prince Hotel Tramway for summer 2007 to greet guests.

New in 2006 we provided Interpretive Rainforest Hikes which focused on the ecology of the North America’s Northern most Temperate Rainforest & hikes part of the Historic Iditarod trail. We are looking forward to expand this offering with our naturalist guides to provide three trip departures, every day, all summer long.

Also, we guided summer Ice Climbing trips at the Byron Glacier in Portage, Alaska that provided a truly rugged backcountry Alaskan experience. We are excited to promote this very high quality trip more in 2007. We are also officially "walking our eco-tourism talk" by buying a Toyota Prius Hybrid which serves as our commercial vehicle to transport guests from Anchorage to Girdwood and to some trailheads in the Chugach Mountains.

In spring 2007 we are offering the Eklutna Traverse & Bomber Traverse.
These ski mountaineering trips are the most sought-after ski traverses in south central Alaska. Join us!

We are also excited about offering our Yoga/Rock Climbing trips again this summer in the Talkeetna Mountains of Hatcher Pass. These trips focus on the mindfulness needed for asana practice and flexibility for rock climbing. It’s a weekend long trip surrounded by some of the most spectacular granite peaks in Alaska.

New to our staff: Louis Sass & Joe Stock, an AMGA guide, are both world-class climbing guides with decades of technical climbing & mountaineering experience between the two. (Bios can be found on our guide page). They mostly guide our winter Ice Climbing & ski mountaineering trips.

In 2007 we launched a “dollars a day” program that will educate our guests on several non-profit companies that are working hard to offset global emissions ( Denali Green Tags), for environmental conservation efforts in Alaska (Alaska Center for the Environment) and promoting health, welfare & education of indigenous peoples of the Himalayas & Andes (The Dzi Foundation). Our hope is that our guests will realize the reaching impact a few dollars makes to non-profits and decide to donate.

2007 brings expansion as we look into offering trips to other pristine South Central Alaskan locations. Stay tuned!
